Existing real estate platforms fail to provide a seamless and intuitive user experience, resulting in frustration and inefficiency for homebuyers, sellers, and renters. By designing a user-centric platform with advanced search functionalities, streamlined transaction processes, and a strong community focus, this project aims to revolutionize the real estate industry and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

Understanding the Problem

Research Methods 
To gain a deep understanding of our target users and their pain points, we used a combination of research methods:

  • User Interviews: Conducted in-depth interviews with potential homebuyers, sellers, and renters to explore their experiences, needs, and frustrations with existing real estate platforms.
  • Surveys: Distributed online surveys to a wider audience to gather quantitative data on user preferences, behaviours, and expectations.
  • Usability Testing: Observed participants as they interacted with competing real estate apps to identify usability issues and areas for improvement.
  • Competitive Analysis: Evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of leading real estate platforms to identify opportunities for uniqueness.

Key Findings 
Our research revealed several key pain points experienced by users:

  • Overwhelming Property Search: Users struggled to find properties that matched their specific criteria, often overwhelmed by irrelevant listings.
  • Lack of Transparency: Difficulty understanding fees, commissions, and closing costs.
  • Time-Consuming Process: Frustration with the lengthy and complex process of buying, selling, or renting a property.
  • Limited Communication: Ineffective communication between buyers, sellers, and agents.
  • Trust and Security Concerns: Data privacy and security when sharing personal information.

Design Process

Our design goals for the real estate platform are:
